Fast X Vin Diesel Reveals Timeline For The First Trailer Release

Fast X star and producer Vin Diesel reveals the release timeline for the first trailer for his upcoming Fast & Furious movie, which arrives in 2023.

Vin Diesel announces the timeline for the release of the first Fast X trailer. The franchise started back in 2001 with The Fast and the Furious. Since then, it has ballooned into a globe-trotting blockbuster franchise that only gets larger with each installment. 2023’s Fast X will serve as the first step to concluding the franchise, with Fast & Furious 11 later set to conclude the main series.

Diesel took to Instagram to share when audiences can expect the release of the first Fast X trailer. He teased the reveal while sharing a photo of him and his onscreen sister, Jordana Brewster. “Less than 2 months away from the FastX trailer launch!!!” Diesel wrote. That timeframe possibly means the first Fast X trailer could debut during the Super Bowl, with the NFL game taking place on February 12. Check out Diesel’s post below:

Everything We Know About Fast X

Fast X? Fast & Furious 10 Missed The Best Sequel Title Opportunity

The upcoming Fast X serves as the first step of the car racing franchise’s swan song. Fast X boasts a sizable budget, with the movie reportedly costing $340 million to produce. That amount of money would put Fast X on the same level of another massive movie kicking off the end of a saga: Avengers: Infinity War. That movie’s budget was $316 million and included several A-list movie stars, top-notch CGI and explosive action scenes. It seems likely that Fast X will feature all of those in spades, particularly when it comes to the action sequences.

To conclude the saga, Fast X will bring back several fan favorite characters from Fast & Furious history, while also introducing new characters who should impact both final movies. One new introduction will be Jason Momoa as the villain. Momoa’s character has been described by the actor as “very sadistic” and will likely be a major problem for Diesel’s Dom and his crew, given the Aquaman star’s impressive physique. Beyond that, most character details remain under wraps. Fast X will also feature the franchise debuts of Brie Larson, Alan Ritchson, Daniela Melchior, and Rita Moreno. Their characters so far remain mysteries as well, though Moreno has at least been confirmed to be playing Dom’s grandmother.

Could Paul Walker’s Brian Return In Fast X?

Furious 7 - Caleb Walker stand in for Paul Walker as Brian O'Conner

Paul Walker tragically passed away after a car accident in 2013. The actor’s brothers, Cody and Caleb, stepped in to help finish Walker’s scenes as Brian O’Conner for his last movie in the franchise. Furious 7‘s Brian scenes blended real footage and CGI, making it difficult to tell which scenes Walker didn’t actually shoot. Since his passing, Walker’s Brian has maintained a small part in the franchise, ranging from appearing in a photo on Dom’s car to his iconic blue Nissan Skyline pulling up to the barbecue in the end of F9. Original Fast X director Justin Lin previously addressed if somehow Brian could fully return in the movie, and Lin hinted that there’s room for Brian to appear in the final installments. Whether this will be through a CGI recreation or more careful editing like the F9 moment remains to be seen, but there is a good chance Brian will factor into Fast & Furious‘ endgame.
