Every gearhead has watched at least one movie from the Fast and Furious franchise. The Franchise has been going strong for more than two decades, and even though modern installments are more blockbuster action films than street racing films, people still flock to cinemas to watch every new release.
Even though Fast and Furious movies have detracted from the street racing theme that made them popular in the first place, they still feature some awesome cars. These include the Lykan Hypersport in Fast 5, the Nissan Skyline R34 GT-R from 2 Fast 2 Furious, and who can forget the Toyota Supra Mk4 from the original film? Universal Pictures recently dropped a new trailer for the latest installment of the franchise – Fast X – and it’s full of cool cars as expected. From roaring muscle cars to ultrafast sports cars, here are some of the cars you can expect to see in Fast X.
10 1970 Dodge Charger R/T
The Fast and Furious cast has changed dramatically since the first film two decades ago, but one character who has been there throughout is Dominic Toretto. Toretto is often the protagonist in the films and is famous for his love for his family and American muscle cars.
Dominic Toretto’s car of choice has always been a 1970 Dodge Charger R/T, which is one of the most iconic muscle cars in history. Dom’s Charger has been through all kinds of accidents, but Dom keeps fixing it and bringing it back.
9 Lamborghini Gallardo
In the Fast X trailer, one of the most thrilling scenes involves a gold Lamborghini Gallardo in a chaotic car chase. This is also the same Gallardo that set visitors in Turin took pictures and videos of. Since the Gallardo is one of the most iconic Italian supercars, it doesn’t surprise us that the producers used it for the Italy scenes.
The Gallardo seems like the kind of car Tyrese Gibson’s character Roman Pearce would drive, but since it appears to be in the bad guys’ convoy, our money is on Dante.
8 2023 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye Widebody
Stellantis has always had a strong relationship with the Fast and Furious franchise. The automotive giant always ensures that its cars play a vital role in the movies, and there’s usually a modern Dodge model they’re trying to advertise.
The car they’ve chosen in Fast X is the Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye with a gray paint job and a factory widebody kit. Judging by the trailer, the Charger participates in one of the best car chases in the entire movie.
7 Classic Chevrolet Impala
Jason Momoa is one of the latest Hollywood megastar additions to the Fast and Furious franchise, but unlike many of his past films, he plays the role of a vengeful villain known as Dante. Dante lost his family during the chaotic bridge chase from Fast Five, and he’s apparently been out to get Dom since.
As you’d expect from any Fast and Furious villain, they must own a cool car in readiness for the inevitable street race with Dom. Dante’s car of choice is a classic Lavender Chevy Impala that appears to have several modifications to boost power.
6 Datsun 240Z
The Fast and Furious franchise has always had a strong connection with the Japanese auto industry. Cars like the Toyota Supra Mk4 and Nissan Skyline GT-R owe a large share of their success and popularity to the franchise.
Fast X continues to honor that connection by featuring the legendary Datsun 240Z, which is one of the greatest Japanese sports cars of all time. This particular Datsun 240Z has a widebody kit that makes it look super cool and a turbocharger to boost speed.
5 1966 Ford Fairlane
Although it’s Dante’s first appearance in a Fast and Furious film, we can already tell he’s a huge fan of classic American muscle cars judging by the cars he drives. Another cool muscle car he drives is a fifth-generation Ford Fairlane.
Dante kidnaps Dom’s son, prompting Dom to chase his Ford Fairlane down on the highway using his iconic Charger. Judging by how fast Dante’s Fairlane appears to be going, it could be the ultra-rare R-Code. Ford built only 57 R-Codes, making it one of the rarest muscle cars.
4 Chevrolet El Camino
After Vin Diesel’s infamous falling out with The Rock, the Fast and Furious producers decided to replace the former WWE megastar with yet another famous wrestler – John Cena. Cena’s first appearance in the franchise was in F9 as Dom’s brother and looks like he’s back in Fast X.
Cena gets into in an intense car chase in the canyons, and his vehicle of choice is a Chevy El Camino. However, his El Camino is unlike any other ever made as it has missile launchers that Cena uses to blow up enemies’ vehicles.
3 Alfa Romeo 159 Police Car
If you’ve ever watched a Fast and Furious movie, you know there will definitely be a car chase or multiple involving the police. In Fast X, this police chase happens in Italy and is as chaotic as you’d expect.
The Italian law enforcement officials involved in the chase use the Alfa Romeo 159, which is one of the coolest police cars in the world.
2 Porsche 911 GT3 RS (997)
One of the most notable scenes in the Fast X trailer involves a street race between four vehicles. We’ve already told you about the first three. The last vehicle in the race is a green 997-generation Porsche 911 GT3 RS, and it looks fantastic.
The GT3 RS is a homologation version of the Porsche GT3 RSR that competes in competitions like the 24 Hours of Le Mans, which means it’s always ready to race. Unfortunately, the GT3 RS probably won’t survive until the end of the movie as it’s involved in a huge explosion.
1 Nissan Silvia
When it comes to Japanese drifting cars, it rarely gets better than the Nissan Silvia. The Silvia’s design, front-engined rear-wheel-drive configuration, and smooth engines make it one of the best drifting cars of all time, which is why it has such a huge cult following.
A white Nissan Silvia S13 makes a brief appearance in the Fast X trailer and as anyone would expect, it looks stunning. It doesn’t look like the Silvia will play a huge role in the movie, though as it was just at a car meet scene.
