When it comes to the fastest machines on wheels, there’s not a movie out there that can compete with the Fast and The Furious car list. Not even Nicholas Cage’s Gone in 60 Seconds can stand a fighting chance against classics like Vin Diesel’s 1970 Dodge Charger or Paul Walker’s 1999 Nissan Skyline GT-R R34. While cars such as these are listed as the franchise’s classics, their most impressive vehicles were showcased in the later movie installments. Once a car fanatic like Jason Statham entered the Fast and Furious franchise in 2013’s Fast and Furious 6, fans have witnessed some of the world’s highest-performing race cars in action, and they also come at a pretty penny. Here are 10 of the most expensive cars in Fast and The Furious.
10 2005 Aston Martin DB9 GT
The only other movie where the Aston Martin sports car is often featured is in James Bond, a car Daniel Craig has had the luxury of testing out personally. But this European-manufactured vehicle has also graced the screen of Fast and Furious 7 in 2013. Under the food of this growling beast is a 5.9-liter V-12 with a maximum of 540 horsepower. The 2005 Aston Martin DB9 coupe is full-bodied, graceful, and equipped with a six-speed transmission that revs from 0-62 mph in under 5 seconds with a top speed of 183 mph. Starting at $155,000, the luxury sports car was driven by Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham) in the Fast 7 scene where he chases Dominic Torretto (Vin Diesel) in his 1970 Dodge Charger. The scene ends with both cars crashing into each other after a game of chicken. Such as waster of precious metal!
9 2019 McLaren 720s
The unlikely alliance between Luke Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) and Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham) in the 2019 Fast and Furious Presents: Hobbs and Shaw’s spinoff was a major success, grossing an easy $760 million against a $200 million budget. While the film was void of any of the original cast of characters, such as Vin Diesel, Tyrese Gibson, or Michelle Rodriguez, the cast of characters that were featured made for a favorable outcome. In addition to some of the new cast, namely Idris Elba, Vanessa Kirby, and Ryan Reynolds, the 2019 McLaren 720s driven by Deckard Shaw, was also the main attraction for Fast and Furious fans. Manufactured in Britain, the McLaren 720s boasts a performance of 60 mph in 2.7 seconds with a top speed of 210 mph powered by a 4.0-liter V8 engine. The starting price for one of these speed devils is $315,000, a price any of the Fast and Furious cast can stomach.
8 1969 Chevrolet Yenko Super Camaro
Taking it all the way back to 2003 at the beginning of the Fast and Furious movie franchise with 2 Fast 2 Furious, the action film was a major success, grossing $236.4 million against a $76 million budget. This was the movie where Roman Pearce (Tyrese Gibson) and Tej Parker (Ludacris) also made their appearances in the franchise alongside Brian O’Connor (Paul Walker). Other appearances in the film also included Eva Mendez and Cole Hauser. And of course, a collection of the highest-performing cars in the world wouldn’t be complete without some American Muscle. The 1969 Chevrolet Yenko Super Camaro, driven by a street racer named Kopri (John Cenatiempo), has a price tag of $325,000 and packs a V8 engine that can touch 125 mph in 11.30 seconds. That’s a whole lot of muscle!
7 2011 Lexus LFA
So many world-class cars have made appearances in the Fast and Furious franchise that it may be difficult to keep track of each one. So when Han (Sung Kang) briefly appeared in 2011’s Fast Five in a black 2011 Lexus LFA, it was still too great of a sportscar to not recognize. The car was shown as a prize Han gifted himself after the team’s vault heist in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil. Brian (Paul Walker), Dom (Vin Diesel), Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson), and Elena (Elsa Patasky) come together to steal millions of dollars from a heavily guarded police station. Han could be seen rolling in the $375,000 vehicle with Gisele Yashar (Gal Gadot), powered by a 4.8-liter V10 engine and can deliver 552 horsepower.
6 1965 Ford GT40
Han’s 2011 Lexus LFA wasn’t the only firey automobile on set in Fast Five. In fact, this sports racing car is the premise for the entire plot of the movie. According to the Fast and Furious fandom site, the 1965 Ford GT40 was owned by the Rio kingpin, Hernan Reyes (Joaquim de Almeida), and was taken from Reyes’ top hitman, Zizi (Michael Irby), by the hand of Dom (Vin Diesel). After it was driven to Dom’s hideout by Mia (Jordana Brewster), they find out that there is a chip embedded in the entertainment system of the GT40, which contains the directions to 10 houses, each holding $10 million. They couldn’t have picked a faster car for an escape! Equipped with a 14-liter V8 engine and clocking 0-60 mph in 3.7 seconds flat, this curvy beast is worth every one of the $500,000 it is worth.
5 2014 Eagle Speedster
There’s a reason this next car is listed as a Special Edition vehicle. Featured in the Fast and Furious 6 movie installment, released in 2013, the 2014 Eagle Speedster is actually a remake of a Jaguar series 1E-type, which is why its build doesn’t seem like that of a 2014 model. In the film, the 2222 lb vehicle was purchased by Tej Parker (Ludacris) at an auction during the crew’s hunt for cars that would be best suited for catching Owen Shaw (Luke Evans), the younger brother of Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham). Fitted with a 4.7-liter engine with 380bhp and a five-speed manual, hitting a top speed of over 170 mph and can go from 0-62 in under 5 seconds. Breath-taking, to say the least, for a vehicle estimated at $1.5 million. Although the car was never driven in the Fast and Furious 6 film, its performance is one of the best in its class.
4 2011 Bugatti Veyron
Just when you thought a Fast and Furious franchise film couldn’t include a more expensive car in their movie, they come in with a $2.4 million Bugatti Veyron in the Fast and the Furious 7. This high-speed monster not only costs more money than some people make in a lifetime but it has also been ranked as the fastest car in the entre Fast franchise. The beastly beauty was driven by Roman Pearce (Tyrese Gibson) after Dom and his crew landed in Dubai after mourning the death of Han (Sung Kang) at the hands of Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham). They are approached by a man named Mr. Nobody (Kurt Russell) to assist him in retrieving the God’s Eye computer program from a billionaire in Dubai. Roman’s Bugatti Veyron is made for speed, able to clock 62 mph in 2.5 seconds, and a top speed of 267 mph!
3 Ferrari FXX
The Fast and Furious franchise has built its reputation and franchise on the exceptional motorcars they have to offer the fans whose car fancy needs to be tickled. Going back to Fast and Furious 6, one of the top-performing cars in their collection was the Italian-built Ferrari FXX. Despite the claims that the sports vehicle was actually found to be a replica, revealed through a picture taken by Ludacris, it doesn’t take away from the above-average performance it offers. Estimated at $2.6 million, the Ferrari FXX comes equipped with a 6262 cc V12 engine, accelerating from 0-60 mph in just 2.77 seconds and reaching a top speed of 214 mph. Fake or not, this is one of the fastest sports cars in the entire franchise.
2 2010 Koenigsegg CCX-R
You know without a shadow of a doubt that the Fast and Furious franchise has clout when they could call shots for the Swedish manufactured 2010 Koenigsegg CCX-R to be featured in the Fast 7 franchise. According to their official website, there are only four of these hypercars in the entire world. The car is seen toward the end of Fast 7 when Roman (Tyrese Gibson) pulls up at Tej’s garage to boast that he just bought a 2010 Koenigsegg CCX-R (worth $2.6 million) with his share of the money they stole from the vault in Brazil and that he owns the only one in the Western hemisphere. To which, Tej (Ludacris) replies that he purchased one too. It features a 4.8-liter twin-supercharged flex-fuel Koenigsegg engine, generating a maximum of 108hp.
1 2013 W Motors Lyukan Hypersport
Similar to the Koenigsegg CCX-R which has only manufactured four units in the entire world, the 2013 W Motors Lykan Hypersport is also a rarity, with only seven units produced. In Fast and Furious 7, this was the vehicle that housed the chip that Mr. Nobody (Kurt Russell) commissioned Dom and Brain to travel to Dubai to retrieve from the God’s Eye chip. This hypercar is a gem both in performance and in bodily design, going from 0-62 mph in under three seconds, has a top speed of 245 mph, diamond-encrusted headlights, and a price tag of $3.4 million, making it the most expensive car used in the entire film franchise. Even the richest celebrities don’t own one of these bad boys. However, not so coincidentally, Vin Diesel is a proud owner of a 2014 Lykan Hypersport, among his other ensemble of vehicles.
